Inductive transmission is only suited to machine tool OEM integration. About IMMThe IMM (inductive module machine) is one half of the inductive transmission system. Mounted on the spindle of the machine tool and wired to the CNC via an interface, the IMM provides power to the probe module and receives trigger and status signals from the probe. The are several types of IMM with various mounting and cable exit options. These have been designed to suit a range of different machine tool installations. About IMPThe IMP (inductive module probe) forms the other half of the inductive transmission system. Mounted on an arm connected to the probe, the IMP receives power from the IMM via electromagnetic induction, whilst sending probe status and trigger signals across the small air gap to the IMM. The particular IMP required will depend on the configuration of the machine tool to which the probe is to be installed. A range of IMP arms are available, defined by the J and K, or L and R dimensions shown on the example diagrams below.
